Whether it's a single extra socket or a full rewire, every job we take on is carried out by a qualified, 18th Edition electrician and certified properly on completion. We work across Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Tamworth and the wider West Midlands for homeowners, landlords, letting agents and commercial premises.

Rewires and consumer unit upgrades

If your property still has a fuse board with rewireable fuses, or cabling with rubber or fabric insulation, it is very likely past the point where it can be safely maintained. We'll assess what you've actually got before recommending anything. Plenty of properties need a consumer unit upgrade rather than the full rewire they were quoted for elsewhere.

A modern consumer unit with RCBO protection means a fault on one circuit no longer takes out the whole house, and gives you the additional shock protection required by the 18th Edition. We'll talk you through what's needed, what can wait, and what it will cost before any work starts.

Fault finding

Breaker that keeps tripping? Lights flickering? Sockets that have stopped working? Intermittent faults are the hardest thing in this trade to pin down, and the reason they often get misdiagnosed is that people replace parts instead of testing properly.

We work through it methodically with proper test equipment, testing insulation resistance, continuity and RCD timing, to find the actual cause rather than guessing. You get a clear explanation of what was wrong and what we did about it. If you have a fault right now, our emergency electrician page explains what is urgent and what can safely wait.

Testing, inspection and certification

An Electrical Installation Condition Report tells you the real state of an installation: what's unsafe, what's merely non-compliant, and what's perfectly fine. Landlords in England need a satisfactory EICR every five years, and we issue these along with any remedial work required to reach a satisfactory result.

For commercial clients we also handle periodic inspection, emergency lighting testing and ongoing maintenance schedules.

Common questions

Are you qualified to certify your own work?

Yes. We are an NICEIC approved contractor and NICEIC registered domestic installer, which means we can self-certify notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations. You receive the compliance certificate directly from us, without needing to involve building control separately.

How much does a rewire cost?

It depends heavily on the size of the property, how much of the existing installation can be retained, and how accessible the cable routes are. We would rather look at the job properly and give you an accurate figure than quote a headline price that changes later. Quotes are free and there is no obligation.

Do you work with landlords and letting agents?

Regularly. We carry out EICRs, landlord safety certificates and any remedial work needed to reach a satisfactory report, and we can work to tenancy turnaround deadlines where access allows.

Will I need to move out during a rewire?

Not usually. Most rewires are done room by room so that you keep power and lighting to the rest of the property. We will talk through the sequence with you beforehand so you know what to expect each day.
