Mounting a television is easy. Mounting it so there are no cables visible, the socket is behind the screen, and the bracket is fixed into something that will actually hold it. That's the part worth paying for.
We install wall-hung TVs across Lichfield and the surrounding area, adding power and aerial points behind the screen and concealing everything within the wall.
What we cover
- TV bracket supply and fitting
- Fixed, tilting and full-motion brackets
- New socket added behind the screen
- Aerial, satellite and HDMI points
- Cables concealed within the wall
- Soundbar and AV equipment wiring
- Plasterboard, brick and stud wall fixing
- Above-fireplace installations
Concealing the cables properly
Trunking stuck on the wall below the screen is a compromise, and it's the thing people most often ask us to come back and fix. Running the cables inside the wall instead means chasing a route, fitting the correct cable for a wall cavity, and making good afterwards.
We add a new socket directly behind the screen so the power lead never appears, and bring HDMI, aerial or network cabling up to the same point from wherever your equipment lives. The result is a screen on a wall and nothing else visible.
Fixing into the right thing
Modern televisions are light, but the leverage on a bracket is considerable, particularly a full-motion arm at full extension. Fixing into plasterboard alone is not adequate, and it's the usual reason a TV ends up on the floor.
We locate the studs or fix into masonry with appropriate fixings for the substrate. On a dot-and-dab wall that means spanning the cavity correctly rather than compressing the board. It's not complicated, but it does need doing properly.
Above a fireplace, and other awkward spots
Over-fireplace installations come with two considerations: viewing height, which is often higher than is comfortable for a long film, and heat, which some screens tolerate better than others. We'll give you an honest view on both before drilling anything.
Where a chimney breast is involved we'll also check what's behind the plaster, since flue liners and old openings are not always where you'd expect.
Common questions
Can you hide the cables in any type of wall?
In the large majority of cases, yes, including plasterboard, stud and masonry walls. Occasionally a wall makes a fully concealed route impractical, and we will tell you that before starting and suggest the neatest alternative rather than proceeding regardless.
Do you supply the bracket?
We can supply one suited to your screen size and how you want it positioned, or fit a bracket you have already bought. Just let us know which when you enquire.
Can you add a socket behind the TV?
Yes, and it is the part that makes the difference. As a registered domestic installer we can add the new point and certify it, so the power lead is never visible.
